the rules.

FOR YOUR REFERENCE
IC = In Character
OOC = Out Of Character
PB = Played By, Portrayed By

♣ Respect EVERYONE. Do not bring OOC drama into the game. If you have a problem with a player, handle it privately. If the problem persists, consult a Mod.

♣ DO NOT GODMOD. Please be considerate of your fellow players and DO NOT move their characters around without permission. This is called Godmodding and will not be tolerated. (More about godmodding)

♣ The time-frame of the game will be posted here. We'll most likely be playing in real-time. Meaning, if it's April in Real Life, it's April in the game. Please do not move on to the next month until the next month has actually come. Also, please don't backtrack or skip too far ahead. If you do a post set on April 15th, don't backtrack and do another post that's on April 7th or skip ahead and set one on April 29th. That's likely to screw everyone else up. Characters do not have to follow the exact happenings from the show. Histories may be altered.

♣ Third-person storybook form is the preferred writing style here, as it's less confusing. Entries posted in character journals should be written in first-person.

♣ For now we're only going to allow LOST and original characters. Losties who died on the show are welcome to be played. Each player will be limited to ten characters, only three of which can be Losties.

♣ PBs must be real actors/musicians. Repeated characters and PBs will not be allowed.

♣ You must have a separate journal for each character you play. Character journals will not be required to be exclusive to this game only, but if you are using a certain journal for multiple games, PLEASE create a filter so that we aren’t spammed with stuff from your other games. (Go HERE to learn how to filter your entries)

♣ Coming to the island severely affects technology. Electrical equipment (and some with batteries) will not work properly (if at all). Rescue will not come quickly or easily.

♣ Characters may appear in more than one scene as long as those scenes are not happening at the same time. It’s impossible to be in two places at once. Also keep in mind that certain things occurring in one scene will affect another.

♣ Characters may have sex. Slash and incest are both allowed. Keep higher-rated posts under an LJ-cut and include proper warnings at the top of the post. Marriages/divorces (unless they occurred before coming to the island) will not be allowed.

♣ Pregnancies on the island are not uncommon. In fact, it's one of Ben's top research priorities. But the main problem with all pregnancies on the island is - all pregnant women die. At least the ones who got pregnant on the island. A female character may be pregnant upon arrival, but only with Mod consent. Only a few characters will be allowed to come to the island pregnant. If you choose to have your character get pregnant while on the island - it's most likely that they will die.

♣ Character deaths will be allowed, to keep things interesting. DO NOT kill other characters without permission OR randomly kill your character without just cause. A character's death must have Mod consent and the consent of all parties involved.

♣ This should be at the top of every initial post in the main community:
Who: Your character and who you're tagging (if it's open to anyone, simply state OPEN)
Where: Where is this scene taking place?
When: When is this scene taking place? Include the Day and the time of day.

Please place all initial posts behind an lj-cut. If you don't know how to do one, check the IJ FAQ.

♣ The TAG FEATURE will be used to organize entries. The option is set to allow players to set their own Tags, so please do so. A character's Tag is generally their first and last name, but if they usually go by an alias, that's fine, too. Please keep up with your Tag; if you join a thread, be sure to edit your Tag into the Tag list of that post.
>> (example: Sawyer's Tag could either be sawyer or james ford)

♣ It won’t be expected that you write a novel with each reply you post, but please try to put a little thought into your response. One-line responses are really hard to reply to. Spell-Check is your friend; NetSpeak is not.

♣ With any luck this will be a long, fun and prosperous game. The key to that, of course, is activity. There won't be any strict guideline as to how frequently you have to post, but active characters are more fun to play with. Post as often as you can. However, if it's been one month or more and there's been no response from you, your character(s) may be removed from the game. A Mod will attempt to contact you once if you haven't posted for a month, and if you don't respond, then your character(s) WILL be removed.

♣ If you know ahead of time that you will be on vacation or otherwise unable to post for a week, please post a notice in the OOC community. Additionally, if you are unable to post for an extended period of time (or you simply need a short break from the game), please request a hiatus. If you must drop a character for whatever reason, please let us know here.

The Mods reserve the right to alter these guidelines at any time for whatever reason.
Members will be notified of changes via [info]afterlost_mods.
