| faq. Have a question? Comment with it here! Last updated March 26, 2008 WHAT IS AFTER LOST? A great question! Basically it's a game set four years (in 2008) after the rescue. WHAT SORT OF CHARACTERS ARE ALLOWED? LOST characters, of course. If you want to play a character that died on the show, that's perfectly fine. We don't have to be exactly canon. Original characters are more than welcome! However, unlike ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} fate__rpg, we will not be allowing characters from other fandoms. (At least not yet, anyway)CAN MY CHARACTER BRING A FRIEND OR LOVED ONE ON THE JOURNEY? Sure. Ben never forbade anyone from bringing along a companion - only that no ‘outsider’ should know about the location of the island. Of course, your character and his or her friend should know that Ben is very likely to have said friend killed. Watch your backs. CAN CHARACTERS BRING PERSONAL ITEMS? Everyone who received a message was advised to only bring the bare essentials. Spare clothing, toiletries, small trinkets. That sort of thing. Everything else will be provided for you. AT WHAT POINT WILL THIS GAME BE STARTING FROM? The game will be starting from the exact point your character receives his or her letter from Ben (his message will be signed as “Henry Gale” to deter Charles Widmore’s spies). Two days later (in-game), on April 9th, your character will have to be at the port on Bowen Island to board the freighter. From there, we’ll move on to an in-game week aboard that freighter, before finally arriving on the island. If, however, you are playing a character who never left the island, you'll most likely be given the task of preparing houses for the new arrivals. WHAT WILL MY CHARACTER BE DOING WHEN HE/SHE ARRIVES ON THE ISLAND? WILL THEY HAVE A PLACE TO STAY? In four years' time, Ben and his group have been hard at work building more houses for those who would be coming to stay on the island. (See the housing post for more details) As for what Ben has planned for your character: Most will be assigned jobs in the various stations about the island. It’s all a part of Ben’s plan to make the island a nice, pleasant place to live once again. WHO ASSIGNS HOUSEMATES? CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN? Feel free to choose your own housemate(s)! But let us know at the housemate list, yeah? So we (and everyone else) can keep track. You're also welcome to wander off and live in the jungle, if you want. THERE WAS A CHILD CHARACTER ON THE SHOW THAT I REALLY WANT TO PLAY. CAN THEY DEFY Yes and yes! After all, time moves differently on the island. WHAT IF I JOIN THE GAME LATE AND EVERYONE'S ALREADY ON THE FREIGHTER/ISLAND? DO I HAVE TO THREAD MY CHARACTER RECEIVING HIS/HER MESSAGE AND/OR BEING ON THE FREIGHTER? Absolutely not. If you join the game 'late' and everyone is already on the freighter, your character will already be on the freighter as well. If you want to include a scene with your character reacting to the message, simply include it in a flashback (in the same post) or just ramblings in your character's thoughts. Same with the island. If everyone's already on the island, you'll be starting on the island too. DO WE HAVE TO UPDATE OUR CHARACTER'S JOURNAL? Well, no, you don't HAVE to. It won't be required, but it would be interesting to read character's personal thoughts every once and a while. It's up to you, really. ;) |
